DR. JANE BARRATT SPEAKS AT
REELWORLD FILM FESTIVAL

Dr. Jane Barratt made an appearance at the Reelworld Film Festival this October to participate in a panel following a screening of the film CARE. Dr. Barratt joined the film’s director, Deirdre Fishel, to field questions related to home care and caregiving, granting the audience insight into struggles and opportunities for the future of aged care.
With over 20 per cent of Canadians reaching retirement age in a decade, CARE is a film that hits home hard. Following paid caregivers and their clients throughout the United States, this film asks  «How do we take care of our aging loved ones and the people who take care of them?»  From an undocumented caregiver who can’t pay her rent to a family going broke from paying nursing fees, CARE shows a pressing need for improvement in our systems for elder care.
